There are a variety of types of keyless system available with a variety of remotes.

Keyless entry systems are exactly what they sound like. They are systems which allow you KEY – LESS (no key) entry. This is accomplished by an electric locking motor in the door and a form of a remote device that communicating with the vehicle allowing unlocking of the door remotely.

Advantages of having a keyless entry system over manually unlocking your doors are: It’s very common for door handles to have scratches around them on the paint from fumbling with your keys, especially at night. Alot of times the vehicles ignition key and door key is the same key. Less wear/tear ensures you won’t be stranded unable to start your car because of a bent/damaged key. It’s much more convenient to unlock your vehicle REMOTELY when your hands are full or when its raining than attempting to unlock it manually with a key.

There are a few different types of keyless entry systems around. Some of these types include:

  • Remote controlled lock / unlock
  • Door mounted Keypad lock / unlock
  • Promixity detection (aka smart keys) where once you get close enough to the vehicle it auto-unlocks or allows you to push button unlock.
  • Smartphone integration controlling your vehicles locks remotely with a smartphone.
  • GPS remote keyless entry.
  • Hidden button keyless entry system (common on hot rods and custom show vehicles)
  • and even some systems that unlock via bluetooth with some cell phones.
POWER LOCKS & KEYLESS ENTRY

The most common type is just a standard remote controlled entry. These can be added on to nearly any vehicle. It’s just a basic set-up to lock and unlock your vehicle using a remote key fob. Even cars that don’t have factory locks can have power motors added and a remote keyless entry systems installed.

Most car alarms and factory security systems include keyless entry built in. In fact its very common for someone to mistake a factory keyless entry system as a factory security system by mistake. All Alarms, ETC car alarms include keyless entry (some vehicles may require parts added).

When selecting your keyless entry system its important to consider what features are important to you. You may find, depending on the features desired, that a full Car Alarm system isn’t much more than your basic keyless entry system, but offers greater vehicle protection and potential insurance discounts. Some of the various features you can include/exclude on your keyless entry system are: multiple remotes, control via a cell phone or other similar device, light flash confirmation, horn honk confirmation, remote trunk release, remote start and/or other remote convenience features.  Plus as an add-on we can give you the ability to not only lock/unlock your door remotely, but also to OPEN it remote with door poppers.

Nearly all of our keyless entry systems include 2 remote keyfobs. This makes a NEW keyless entry system often more affordable and a wiser choice when a factory remote is lost. Typical factory replacement remotes cost about $80-$200 and with new keyless entry systems starting as low as $99 installed, it only make sense to simply install a brand new complete Alarms, ETC keyless entry system. But if just a replacement remote is all your interested in we also carry a variety of Replacement Remotes for car alarms / keyless entry systems.

Would you like your vehicles lights to flash when you lock/unlock your doors letting you know the signal occurred? Or possibly a horn honk confirmation letting you know its locked. No problem we can add this on to any system and the majority of our systems include this too. Plus we can have it illuminate the inside of your car when your doors unlock or turn on your headlights for 30 seconds so you can find your car in a dark parking lot.

Tired of getting into a hot car during Florida’s terrible summers? The window tint you have just not quite cutting down ENOUGH of the heat and need something more? Well, we offer remote start keyless entry systems that allow you to always get into a cool vehicle by starting your vehicle remotely with the A/C on. Remote start systems aren’t just for the Northerners!

This is similar to alot of Ford / Lincoln / Mercury vehicles. Ours can be added in conjunction to virtually ANY existing keyless entry / car alarm system or can be used as a stand alone giving you a convenient way to unlock your doors without having to worry about a remote.
