The double din reference refers to the size of the opening that the radio is mounted to / housed in. A double din radio opening is approximately 4″ wide by 7″ tall, literally double the size of a standard ‘single din’ opening.

Double din in dash mobile video screens are typically cheaper than their motorized counter part. This is because of the lack of motorized mechanism that is required of a flip out mobile video screen. Double Din mobile video screens have become so popular over the years that many vehicle manufacturers have started including them in their vehicles, stock. Because of this they are the most cost effective choice available today (assuming your car can fit one). The vast majority of Double Din screens on the market today are also touch screens, AM/FM/CD/DVD radios and have a ton of features such as Bluetooth, IPOD / IPHONE CONTROL / Streaming audio and more.
